The President presides at each meeting to preserve order and enforce the Constitution and Bylaws.
The President is also responsible for asking all officers and delegates to provide reports to the membership, appoints committees and endeavors to run a smooth and informative union meeting.
Assists the President in performing their duties and to perform the duties as President in their absence.
The Financial Secretary accounts for all monies paid to the Local and produces a monthly report to the membership regarding finances, membership reports that detail growth and decline of membership and also the financial wellbeing of the Local.
Recording of the written minutes of the Union and E-Board meetings and responsibility for keeping important documents, papers and correspondence on record.
Receiving all monies from the Financial Secretary and creating a quarterly report. The Treasurer also makes available the books to be read or reviewed monthly by the Financial Secretary.
Assisting the President in preserving order at the Union meeting and verifying that only Union members and registered guests are admitted to the meetings.
The Business Rep assists Local Union 10 and the officers in carrying out their assigned functions under the Business Representative’s direction from the Area Director and/or BM/ST. The Business Rep negotiates multiple contracts that ensure the proper representation of the Local and the members. They are responsible for dealing with any grievance issues you may have that relate to your contract or contract interpretation. The Business Rep attends Building Trade meetings, C.L.C’s, Conventions and other meetings that represent you, the member.
This is the person you will probably have the most contact with when visiting the Local Union 10 office. The office Secretary receives dues money, receives work requests, updates files, assists in signing up new members and out-of-work members. It is crucial that you notify the office every time you change your address or phone number so that we can keep you educated, informed and working.
